LACT Programme
Supporting Children, Young People and Families Across the Andean Region
TOGETHER WITH OUR PARTNERS, WE UNLOCK BRIGHTER FUTURES THROUGH EDUCATION, HEALTH, AND OPPORTUNITY
The LACT Programme is The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation’s commitment to children, young people and families in the Andean countries of Latin America. Rooted in our founding objective of relieving poverty, distress and hardship, the programme promotes education, health and welfare to open new possibilities for future generations.
We work with a limited number of trusted partners in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. These long-term relationships ensure that our funding is focused, strategic and deeply embedded in community priorities.
Over two decades, the LACT Programme has helped to:
- Expand access to education for children and young people.
- Improve health and wellbeing through local services, outreach and preventative care.
- Support families facing hardship with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
- Strengthen protection for vulnerable children and adolescents through advocacy, community engagement and safeguarding efforts.
How we work
We fund multi-year development projects, maximising the potential of sustained commitment. Our grants are mainly awarded to UK-registered charities, which in turn work through their own trusted partner networks across our focus countries – Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
We work with projects that:
- Operate in the fields of education, health, poverty alleviation and protection
- Demonstrate proven expertise and effective local implementation
- Involve communities directly in design and delivery
- Show potential to serve as scalable or replicable models
- Apply methodologies focused on capacity building and advocacy
We are also eager to facilitate dialogue between partners where it feels relevant and helpful, creating spaces to share ideas, learnings, and best practices across the network.
OUR PARTNERS
From safeguarding children to advancing health and education, supporting families and strengthening communities, our partners are at the forefront of the fight for safer, healthier and more hopeful futures.
